Yuvraj’s big disclosure about WC 2019, told why Team India had to face defeat

Yuvraj Singh On World Cup 2019: Team India had to face defeat in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup. In this tournament, Team India was being considered as a strong contender for the World Cup. However, the team was eliminated from the semi-finals. On which now former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh believes that the team had to face defeat due to lack of proper planning.

Couldn’t plan properly

Regarding the planning of Team India, Yuvraj Singh said that the team had failed to plan well for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. Referring to the swap between Vijay Shankar and Rishabh Pant for number four, Yuvraj said that if he had an experienced batsman at the fourth position in the batting order, India could have done better in the tournament.

India’s batting lineup was lacking in the middle order in the tournament, creating problems especially at the number four slot, with veteran batsman Ambati Rayudu being dropped from the 15-man squad.

Yuvraj said in an interview to Sanjay Manjrekar, ‘When we won the World Cup (2011), we were all given a place to bat. I realized in the 2019 World Cup that he had not planned it well. He gave Vijay Shankar a chance to bat at number 4 with just 5-7 one-day matches, then he replaced him with Rishabh Pant. Whereas when we played the 2003 World Cup, Mohammad Kaif, Dinesh Mongia and I had already played 50 ODIs.

Same problem in T20 team

Talking about the T20 team, Yuvraj Singh said that India’s middle-order problem also exists in the T20 format, which was seen in the T20 World Cup in UAE last year. At the same time, in the IPL, the same middle-order batsmen bat well for the franchise, while their performance was lacking in the T20 World Cup.
