Ranveer Singh: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ revealed how he visited Delhi University to get to know the culture of Delhi for the role of Bittu Sharma in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’. The actor, who will now be seen in a comedy-drama ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’, accompanied his co-actress Shalini Pandey on the sets of the show to promote the film.
Ranveer said, “I auditioned for ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ and I was told that the role is of a 21-year-old boy from Delhi. So, I did all the films based on Delhi that were being made at that time like I worked on my pronunciation after watching Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’. Then Aditya (Chopra) sir could not believe that I was born and brought up in Mumbai.”
The actor also talked about his film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ and said, “The unique thing about the script was that I had never heard such a story before. When I narrated the film, I was crying and laughing at the same time.” It’s a rare film. Even though he’s a first time director, it’s also the first time in my life that I said ‘yes’ to a script on the spot! I said, ‘I have to do this!’ ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
