Major security lapse during Commonwealth Games, stadium evacuated after stopping wrestling match

CWG 2022: Wrestling matches have been put on hold during the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham due to security lapses. At the same time, the entire stadium has also been evacuated. According to the latest information, now the final matches of wrestling will also be delayed. India’s Bajrang Punia and Deepak Poonia won the first round. Both have made it to the quarter finals.

United World Wrestling tweeted, “We are suspending games for the time being for security checks. Plays will resume once permission is granted.” According to the latest information, wrestling matches will resume at 5:15 pm Indian time.

Indian players did wonders in wrestling. Both Bajrang Punia and Deepak Poonia won their first matches. Bajrang defeated Nauru’s Lawe Bingham 4-0, while Deepak Poonia defeated New Zealand’s Mathew 10-0.
