Due to continuous rain in Baghpat district for two days, the poor quality of Delhi-Saharanpur highway came to the fore late on Tuesday night. The highway sank from place to place. In order to avoid any major accident, the NHAI staff had to stop the traffic on one side of the highway. Police reached the spot and diverted the traffic to the other side of the highway. Due to this, the drivers had to face difficulties.

Due to continuous rain for two days and incomplete construction works, there is waterlogging on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway, which is causing damage to the road. On Tuesday night, the highway collapsed from several places near Pali village, due to which the drivers started facing problems.

The team of NHAI employees reached the spot on the information of the highway collapsing. One side of the highway was closed for traffic. On receiving the information, Kotwali in-charge NS Sirohi also reached the spot along with the force. Police diverted traffic on the other side of the highway. However, the drivers had to face difficulties.

He said that toll is collected on this highway. Even after this, so much carelessness was taken in its construction. Thankfully no one was injured due to the highway collapse. A major vehicle crash could have caused a major accident. In this regard, Inspector NS Sirohi was talked to Kotwali, he told that information has been received about the collapse of the highway. Inspector from Kotwali has been sent to the spot along with the force.
