Addressing the convocation, President Ram Nath Kovind said that almost half of the degree recipients are women, which is a very good situation. Referring to the daughters who won gold medals, he said that 70% of the gold medal winners are women. The President said that it is a matter of satisfaction and pride that our daughters are ready to perform at the same level as our sons and sometimes even better.
President Kovind said, India had great learning traditions and Kashmir has been home to some of them. A need has been felt to integrate modern education with the rich heritage in a way that helps us better meet the challenges of the 21st century.
