The PMO said that a public participation program is being launched in the state to create more awareness about the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel will also be present in this program.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, five kilograms of additional food grains per person are given to all the beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act.
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana provides free food grains to the people to ensure food security during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, the central government has extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till November 2021. At the same time, there is a possibility of a third wave in the coming few months.
