In Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, the well collapsed and many people fell in it while trying to save a child who had fallen in the well. Rescue work is underway and as of now 20 people have been rescued.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that NDRF and SDRF teams have left from Bhopal. District Collector and SP are present on the spot. He said that I have instructed the minister in-charge of Vidisha, Vishwas Sarang, to reach there.

JCB machines are being used for rescue work. According to the information, this well is about 30 feet deep and is also filled with water. This incident happened around nine o’clock in the night. All the 20 rescued people have been taken to the hospital.
CM Chauhan is monitoring
The Chief Minister is personally supervising the ongoing relief and rescue operations at the spot. Chouhan directed for a high-level inquiry into the Ganjbasoda incident and to provide all possible medical assistance to the victims. Meanwhile, Vinayak Verma, Superintendent of Police of Vidisha district, who reached the spot, told PTI over phone, “All I can say right now is the rescue operation.” He did not elaborate further.
According to the information, a 14-year-old teenager had fallen into the well on the red plateau of Ganjbasoda. A crowd gathered there to save him, due to which the well suddenly collapsed and many people got trapped in it.
CM Chouhan’s Delhi tour canceled
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was to leave for Delhi tonight, but due to this accident, he has decided to stay in Vidisha for the night. According to the information, now the Chief Minister can leave for Delhi on Friday.
