The central government has put a stop to the ambitious plan of the Kejriwal government to provide door-to-door ration in Delhi. The Delhi government was all set to launch the ‘Doorstep Delivery of Ration’ scheme across Delhi within a day or two.
Under this scheme, ration was to be delivered to every household in Delhi. In Delhi, 72 lakh people would have benefited from this scheme of the Kejriwal government. The Chief Minister’s Office said that the LG has rejected the file citing two reasons.
It is being told that the Central Government has said that the approval of the Central Government was not taken for this scheme. Hence the ban. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a press conference at 11 am on Sunday to ban the plan.
Significantly, on May 15, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a meeting of his cabinet, in which a decision was taken regarding the free ration scheme. On May 18, CM Kejriwal told the media that the government would deliver ration to the homes of 72 lakh people.
Will be able to take 10 kg ration
CM Kejriwal said that those who have ration card, Delhi government gives five kg ration to them. Free ration will be given to such people this month. Along with this, 5 kg more ration will be given under the scheme of the Center. In this way people will be able to take 10 kg ration this month. There are many people in Delhi who are in need and they do not have cards, they will also be given ration.
