A batch of farmers has reached Jantar Mantar to protest against the agricultural laws. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait is also present with him.

Along with the farmers, now the Shiromani Akali Dal has also come out against the agricultural laws. Leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal protested outside the Parliament House this morning by showing the Agriculture Minister posters made in protest against the laws.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said – we are ready to talk to the farmers

Amidst the farmers’ protest, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the country is witness that these agricultural laws are very important and in the interest of the farmers. We have discussed these laws in detail. If farmers put forward their problems point-wise regarding these laws, then we are ready for talks.

Currently only counting farmers on Ghazipur border

On one hand, farmers are marching for demonstration at Jantar Mantar, while on the other hand only a few farmers are present at Ghazipur border. There is complete peace there. At 9:30 in the morning, Chaudhary Rakesh had left for Tikait Singhu Border. Tight security arrangements are in place at the border. Three times the force has been deployed as compared to daily. Every visitor is being monitored by putting barricades at various places.

Ahead of the farmers’ protest at Jantar Mantar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also started a protest against three agriculture laws. Rahul along with some Congress MPs is protesting against the agriculture laws in front of the Gandhi statue located in the Parliament premises.

Tikait said before leaving for the Kisan Sansad this morning that there would be a demand outside the Parliament to withdraw the three farmer laws and enact a law on MSP. Declaration of farmers: Parliament will be held where the police stopped

Before leaving from Sonipat, farmer leader Manjit Singh Rai told that 200 farmers are going to protest against agriculture laws in front of Parliament. Our buses will stop at Jantar Mantar and from there we will go on foot. Wherever the police will stop us, we will put up our Parliament. The farmers whose ID cards have been made will go ahead.

Uttar Pradesh will be the next stop for farmers

Farmer leader Prem Singh Bhangu, who is protesting at Singhu border, said that our next stop will be BJP’s stronghold Uttar Pradesh. Our mission for UP will start from September 5. We will isolate the BJP completely. There is no other option but to withdraw the agricultural laws. We are ready for talks.
