At least 39 students of the Government Medical Hospital in Thrissur, Kerala have been found infected with Kovid-19 who were given both doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine. This information was given by the hospital authorities on Monday.

The medical college, which was closed due to the lockdown implemented due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, was reopened on June 1 and the first batch of students returned to the campus on June 5.

Officials said the second batch of 175 students had arrived on June 6, out of which the first case of Kovid-19 was confirmed on the same day. When the cases started increasing, the authorities got all the students of that batch tested for COVID-19 on July 17. After 20 of them were found infected with the virus, they were allowed to go home.

He said that three batches of students are residing in the campus as their examination is going on and nineteen students of these batches have been found infected with COVID-19. A hospital official said, ‘Since June 6, a total of 39 medical students have been found to be infected with Kovid-19. All of them had taken two doses of the vaccine.
