Shia religious leader Maulana Kalbe Jawwad has lodged a strong objection to the language of the guidelines issued by the DGP headquarters regarding Muharram. He said in a press conference on Monday that wrong language has been used in the circular. It mentions cow progeny and sexual incidents which is an insult to Muharram.

In the guidelines issued, it was said that the Shia community should read Tabarra. It said that some anti-social elements fly by writing such things on the backs of animals and kites on which the Sunni community objected. It was feared that the peace would be disturbed.

He said that the statement of the circular does not appear to be that of the police chief of the state but of Abu Bakr Baghdadi. The DGP should withdraw his statement and apologize. He said that the circular is issued every year but such language is not used.

Maulana Saif Abbas Naqvi, president of Shia Chand Committee, also expressed strong displeasure over this and said that wrong allegations have been made against the Shia community by digging up the last 40 years old things in the guideline. This has hurt the religious sentiments of the Shia community. He has demanded the DGP to withdraw this letter and take action against those who prepared it. He said that efforts are being made to spoil the atmosphere of the state.

At the same time, the state DGP Mukul Goyal had given clarification on this on Sunday evening itself. He said that the circular regarding Muharram has been issued like last time also this time. ADG law and order has been asked to find out the truth about the letter which is going viral.
