A fire broke out in Balmiki Colony at Noorbagh in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district late on Thursday evening. The fire caused by the leakage of LPG gas in a house engulfed several houses.

Police and fire department reached after getting information and tried to control the fire. Five fire brigade and two army vehicles were engaged in controlling the fire.

Due to the narrow road, the fire brigade had difficulty in reaching the vehicles as it was difficult to control the fire. At least 20 houses were engulfed in flames, police said.

Efforts to extinguish the fire continued for a long time but it is not yet known how much economic loss has been caused by it.
