India’s star female archer Deepika Kumari created history in the ongoing Archery World Cup in Paris. He completed his hat-trick of gold medals by winning the recurve individual event 6-0 in the World Cup Stage 3. With this win, Deepika has become the world’s No. 1 female archer. World Archery on Monday released its latest ranking in which Deepika got the first position. This is the second time Deepika Kumari has achieved this feat in archery.
Deepika Kumari, 27, who hails from Ranchi, had topped archery for the first time in 2012. On Sunday, Deepika won gold medals in individual and mixed events.
On Monday, an official tweet from World Archery said, “Deepika Kumari has secured the first rank in World Archery. Dipika Kumari won the gold medal in the women’s recurve team event with Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari earlier beating Mexico easily.
She then went down 0-2 with her husband Atanu Das to beat the Netherlands pair of Seif Van Den and Gabriella by a 5-3 margin to target the gold medal. After this, the princess of Ranchi won the gold medal by defeating 17th ranked Alina Osipova of Russia by a margin of 6-0. Talking about Deepika’s overall medals, she has been successful in winning 9 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze medals.
