Earlier, monsoon has arrived in Madhya Pradesh 7 days back. Meanwhile, the effect of pre-monsoon rains also reached Delhi, NCR, western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana. Due to this, many areas of the state received heavy rains late in the night, giving relief to the people from the heat, but trees and electric poles have also fallen due to the storm.

Orange alert issued in Madhya Pradesh
According to the IMD, an orange alert was issued in Madhya Pradesh due to the advance of the southwest monsoon, warning of heavy rain and thundershowers in 11 districts of the state.

After reaching Jabalpur, Hoshangabad divisions, large parts of Indore and Shahdol divisions and some parts of Bhopal and Sagar divisions in the state, Monsoon is moving into other parts of the state. The Southwest Monsoon has also advanced into parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, the IMD said.

60 percent more rain in 21 districts of Maharashtra
Between June 1 and 10, 21 out of 36 districts in Maharashtra received 60 per cent excess rainfall. According to the IMD, there has been 60 percent more rain than the average during the last 10 days. Apart from Mumbai, the coastal districts of Thane, Raigad and Palghar received heavy rains.
