Amidst the ongoing tussle between the Center and the Mamta government, Alapan Bandopadhyay, the former Chief Secretary of the state, has sent a reply to the notice to the Government of India. According to sources, he has said in his reply that he did what Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed him. Alapan further replied that he was with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the day of the scheduled meeting with the Prime Minister and was conducting an aerial survey in North-South 24 Parganas. Alapan said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, he had also visited Digha, the cyclone-affected area during this period.
