Apart from Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in table tennis, the pair of Sreeja Akula and Achanta Sharath Kamal won their matches. With this win, both the Indian pair have qualified for the quarter-finals. Indian pair Akula and Kamal defeated Malaysian pair Ho Ying and Leong Cheng Feng Ki 3-1.

Although Akula and Kamal did not start well, the Indian pair suffered a defeat in the first game, but after that Akula and Kamal made a great comeback. The Indian pair defeated Ho Ying and Leong Cheng Feng Kee in the next three games to make their way into the quarter-finals.

At the same time, the pair of Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gyanasekaran also managed to win their matches. Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran defeated Nigerian pair of Ajok Ojomu and Olajide Omotoyo. Actually, during this match Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran did not give any chance to the opposition pair. The Indian pair won three sets 11-7, 11-6, 11-7 to seal their place in the quarterfinals.
