IPL 2022: The 15th season of IPL is now at its last stop. So far 58 matches have been played in the tournament. Gujarat Titans captained by Hardik Pandya has also qualified for the playoffs. Soon 3 more teams will confirm their place in the playoffs. Many players have been injured in the tournament this year. Some of these injuries were so serious that they had to be ruled out for the entire season. These include Ravindra Jadeja of Chennai, Deepak Chahar to Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians.
Deepak Chahar was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore in the Mega Auction. Deepak Chahar suffered a leg injury during the T20I series against West Indies in Kolkata on 20 February. His quadriceps muscles were injured. He was at the National Cricket Academy for rehab. Here his leg injury was recovering fast, but only then Deepak got hurt in his back. In such a situation, he had to be out of this entire season of IPL.
Former Chennai captain Ravindra Jadeja was injured in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In such a situation, he was not included in the playing 11 against Delhi Capitals. During the toss, captain Dhoni had told that Jadeja is not fit. After this, on Wednesday, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told that Jadeja has been out of the whole season due to injury. Viswanathan said, “He has a rib injury.” “The medical advice is that he should not pressurize it, so we have decided that he should leave the IPL.”
Mumbai, which had a disappointing performance in the IPL, suffered another setback when in-form batsman Suryakumar Yadav was ruled out of the entire season due to injury. A statement issued by the IPL said, “Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of IPL 2022. Suryakumar Yadav has a left arm injury, due to which he has been ruled out. Suryakumar Yadav was ruled out on 6 May. There was an injury in the match against Gujarat Titans.
Recently, Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Rasikh Salam was ruled out of the entire season of IPL 2022 due to injury. Harshit Rana was included in the team in his place. Salam, who played 2 matches for KKR in the current season, suffered a lower back injury, due to which he was ruled out of the tournament. In his place, Harshit Rana of Delhi joined KKR at a base price of 20 lakhs.
England’s Jason Roy was the first player to withdraw from the tournament in IPL 2022. Roy had taken the decision to walk out of IPL 2022 citing personal reasons. Gujarat Titans included Afghanistan wicket-keeper batsman Rahmanatullah Gurbaz in place of Jason Roy.
