CYCLING NEWS – MARK CAVENDISH TO RACE FOR DECEUNINCK-QUICK-STEP AT TOUR OF BRITAIN, FIRST NAME ANNOUNCED

Mark Cavendish will compete in the Tour of Britain. Deceuninck – Quick-Step is the most successful team in modern Tour of Britain history, winning the race twice and taking 22 stage victories since 2004. The rest of Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s lineup is expected to and the other competing teams will be announced soon. .

Mark Cavendish is the first driver confirmed to compete in the Tour of Britain in September.
The British sprinter, who equaled Eddy Merckx’s record of 34 Tour de France stage wins, will lead Deceuninck-Quick-Step with the race scheduled to start in Cornwall on September 5.
“It is always an honor to race on the local roads of the Tour of Britain,” said the 36-year-old.

“It is a race in which I have always enjoyed success and I am looking forward to competing with what I know will be a strong Deceuninck – Quick-Step team.
