Along with Tetris, Mario, and Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft is one of the best-selling games of all time. Due to this, 1 trillion is seen written with the logo of YouTube.
On opening the page of YouTube, the figure of 1 trillion seen with the people is surprising the users. After all, what is the reason for this? Actually, all this has been done because of the great success of the video game Minecraft.
It is not a new thing that Minecraft is one of the most successful video games ever and now this creative sandbox survival game has made another record in its name. It has been viewed over 1 trillion times on YouTube.
Along with Tetris, Mario, and Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft is one of the best-selling games of all time. Due to this, 1 trillion is seen written with the logo of YouTube. This world-building game first appeared on Google’s video-sharing service in 2009 and has become one of the largest communities on the platform. YouTube said there are more than 35,000 active creator channels making videos on Minecraft in 150 countries. This tops the 140 million people who play Minecraft on PCs, mobile devices, and video game consoles.
Minecraft most viewed subject
At a time when tech companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft are worth over $1 trillion, this seems like just another number. But for Mojang Studios, the Stockholm-based development team that created Minecraft, it’s a tremendous achievement that the game continues to grow. In August 2021, the number of monthly active users of Minecraft was more than 141 million. It was also shared that Minecraft was the most viewed subject. The game has now crossed one trillion views in total at the end of 2021.
Lidia Winters, Chief Storyteller at Mojang Studios, said, “About a decade ago, a team of seven started making videos about Minecraft as a career on YouTube, and it continues to grow.”
Since the purchase of Mojang for $2.5 billion in 2014, the game’s appeal has continued to grow. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said at the time, “Minecraft is much more than a great game franchise – it’s an open platform.” Microsoft and YouTube said the game has grown steadily since then.
